Orange Survival Set (Part 2)

I didn't forget about this one. Two years after first drawnings I have a large blade (already heat treated) and a small blade (ready for heat treating). Also a firesteel, Fallkliven DC3 sharpener, orange paracord, orange kydex... even an orange tread for sewing leather. What I don't have is some more free time ;)

Recreating a tsuba by Ford Hallam

One of the memebers of  Polish Guild of Knifemakers (I don't remember if I wrote that I am a member of that guild...) showed me a fantastic short film about making a tsuba for Katana sword by classical Japanese metal artist Ford Hallam. This guy is amazing! You have to watch it!
It's unbelievable what people can do using only the simplest tools and their talent...

SCOUT Squirrel Friction Folder

   Finally I finished a knife from  "The Sons of the squirrel" series. A little friction folder with toxicated G10 and stonewashed titanium frames. Very light and pocket size.

Steel: N690 (cryogenic heat treatment)
Blade thickness: 3 mm
Blade length: 4,2 cm
Overall length: 12,2 cm 
Handle material: black-green G10, titanium
Locking mechanism: friction ;)

La Biche Hunter

This is my first finished knife showed on the blog. For the first time I wasn't the one to make a sheath. It was made by Sławomir "Slawol" Woźny.

Steel: D2 Tool Steel (cryogenic heat treatment)

Blade length: 10 cm
Overall length: 22,2 cm

Sex, sheaths and rock'n roll ;)

Recently I had the pleasure of working with some great people when making my new knife called La Biche Hunter. I don't want to show you the knife just yet but I will show you today what this two guys are able to make.

The first of them is Sławomir 'Slawol' Woźny, a sheathmaker. His works are combination of beautiful, simple form as well as utility and toughness. You can watch his works here. He is withoubt doubt one of the best sheathmekers in Poland. I like his work a lot, so I decided to ask him if he want to make a leather sheath for my next knife. Fortunatelly he agreed...

The second person is Krzysztof 'Ofaniel' Sawarzyński, a mountain lover and a photograph. A friend of Sławek who always makes photos of his leatherwork. The pictures of knives and sheaths he makes, are one of the best I have seen. Not to mention that he likes to take pictures of knives with beautiful women. My titanium micro tools 2

   I made a whole set of titanium mini tools and bottle openers. Every piece is made of the toughtest 6al-4v titanium. The first one is 3,2mm(0.125in) thick. Lizard, Howrsis and CatFishes are 2mm(0,08in) thick. Those are 100% handmade, beadblasted, polished and anodized titanium. That is why every item is unique.

From today when I finish a knife or a tool I will write on the blog if it is available or not.

Knives on The Stump II

   Last week I got the package from my friend knifemaker Janusz "Yahoo" Bladowski. There was a big piece of  green canvas micarta and my and my brother blanks after heat treatment(also a little gift from him - very cool neck knife). The blue knives on the picture are made of D2 steel and desert sand color is N690 steel after a bath in liquid nitrogen (cryogenic treatment). I didn't wast time and started making handles.

I also started to make a series of titanium mini tools/bottle openers.

        I managed to finish a series of the little tools. At least it seemed tha I did. It occured that they don't open the bottle properly :p. I made final finish, anodize titanium and even get all the pictures to show it to you... after this when tools were ready I check how it works. It turned out that I  have  to change the shape a little bit. But what is worst I will have to make a final finish and anodizing one more time.

Those guys from Victorinox know what they doing.
