Random stuff

It is time for the new post!
Below are some pictures of the random stuff I made lately with my brother
SAK scales, Pingo scales, Vault Openers, Tactical Fishes, logo earrings and so on... ;)
Also a picture made during stitching of the first ever leather wallet I made. I always wanted to make one. After a few months of using it is still works great! Vault Boy approves ;)

Not only SAK scales...

Some random pics of what will be finished in the near future. Of course not including SAK scales ;)

A set of leather sheats for a great TLIM knives.
Custom scales for Spyderco Pingo! Two pairs made of titanium and one made of copper. Those are already finished. Soon I will show you some pictures of the finished scales.
Custom titanium prybars with a clip. It will be my first titanium clips ever! I hope to do clips more often when I learn how to make them. Also Devils-S 'keychains' are being in progress.

Making a Pioneer knife Part 3 - scales

I put away this project for almost a year but third part is of making Pioneer knives is finally here. Knives are far more advanced with production now, so I have to catch up with showing the progress. In this episode I will show you how the scales was from green canvas micarta sheet. 3mm 4-flute carbide end mill have been used for this. As you see no cooling liquid is required to mill micarta or G10. It was milled almost one year ago so it was not perfect. Now we would do it better ;)
There are also some pictures showing how tubes were prepered.
I cut the video into pieces and speed is x3 because it would be even more boring without this...

Squirrels are back!

...well, almost. I didn't finished any yet but started this Squirrel friction folder project with my brother more than a year ago. So far we have made a prototype and started a big colorful series. We are now on the stage of making grinds and then heat treatment will be made in our new hardening furnace.
Like always it started with a prototype. Black G10 was used.
Then stage after stage first Squirrel made of titanium, black-green G10 and N690 steel was built. A very special piece with a cup of coffee engraved.
It was a very long and slow start but now I will be able to finish first piece soon and make more. Stay tuned as next month I will be showing some of them finally finished.

Custom scales for new knife models!

About a half year ago I decided that after making so many scales for Victorinox Swiss Army Knives I need to try some other knives. I chose two Spyderco knives for an easy start: Endura and Pingo. I have bought an orange version of the knives to scan them and use it as a base for my fittings.
Encouraged by one of my clients, last weekend me and my brother have finally milled the prototype of the Pingo scales. Material was black G10. It turned out to work very well after first attempt. Only some minor changes has to be made. This is just a rough prototype. In a couple of weeks I will finish my first titanium pair of scales for this cute knife ;)

Knives on The Stump VIII

...well, this time not only knives. Some of my almost finish stuff in pictures.
Do you remember this knife? My first ever knife milled with use of my CNC about one year ago
Edge and sheats needs to be made.
Orange G10 scales and titanium tubes - one of my favourite combinations.
I just love the look of beadblasted orange G10! :)
First series of my PHOTON neck knives. The one on the bottom is made of titanium. Above there are
two pieces without grinds, made of N690 steel. One will be stonewashed and second will have satin finish

Group photo of titanium stuff: PHOTON neck knife with carbidized edge , two TACTICAL FISHES with new
finish of edges and VAULT 13 pendant.

New PROTOTYPES

Hi! I have been working on those desings for almost a year and finally I started to make prototypes. As usual, I am making them in cooperation with my brother on our CNC milling machine. My idea was to design a couple of knives which will be my regular models. I decided to design two size of friction folders, and two necks: three finger with scales and skeletonized one. For the friction folders, I have used the concept of knives that I made in the past: WAR Squirrel and small Squirrel. I don't have a prototype for a small squirrel yet but I hape to make it soon. As those are just prototypes, I have used black G10 for the scales - it will be different in finished models. A prototype of the two finger neck knife (I have to think of a name for it) is made only with G10 but it is just to check how it fits the hand.

I think of this neck as a some kind of Pocket Survival Knife. It is a hidden tang construction so it is very light but steel durable as it will be 2.5-3mm steel.
Two finger neck. For sure I will make a titanium version of this knife with carbidized edge. It fits to Altoids tin, which was one of my priorities during designing. Another priority was a paracord wrap option.
WAR Squirrel is back! I've got many requests to make more of this folder. There was only one piece of it in the whole world but soon there will be more ;).  I have changed the original design a little bit and now it will look even more like a folding cleaver.
